The PowerBoard |
Finally a way to place the keyboard and the mouse ergonomically--low (in your lap)
- New research suggests that the incidence of
repetitive stress injury is reduced when the keyboard is placed at a negative tilt of 12
to 15 degrees. The PowerBoard allows you to adjust the tilt with ease.
- The placement of the keyboard on the lap allows
the PowerBoard user to have a more ergonomically correct position.
- The buckwheat hull filler and corduroy covering
provide for a comfortable fit and accurate positioning, as it holds The PowerBoard
securely on the lap.

How To Use The Power Board:
For optimal performance while using
The PowerBoard, the following setup is recommended:
- Place feet flat on floor directly under your knees.
- Chair seat height should be high enough to have
your hips slightly higher than your knees. A slight forward tilt of the seat works
best. (If your chair cannot make these adjustments, you can purchase a seat wedge,
or roll a bath towel into a wedge shape and place it under your "sit bones".)
- Lean forward from your hips until you feel your
abdominal muscles (the muscles in the front of your trunk) are engaged.
- Hold The PowerBoard on both sides, with the
backstop away from you, and shake the buckwheat hulls towards you. This creates the
negative tilt. Place The PowerBoard on your lap, then place the keyboard on The
PowerBoard.
- The materials you use for reference can now be
placed on the work surface directly in front of you where the keyboard used to be.
(If you use a mouse we recommend you purchase a PowerBoard with a side mounted mouse
holder to prevent arm strain from reaching up to the desk to use the mouse).
