Product selection tips: The Essential is best for cost-conscious users. The
Classic Model 133 is the best value for basic programmability. The Professional is best
suited to injured users who need extensively customized keyboard, and to programmers who
want the most features (Professional Model also includes one free foot switch)
All models can accommodate up to two foot switches with included wye cable (foot
switches are optional)
Adaptation tips: New users should budget several days without a heavy work load
for stress-free adaptation. Most people are productive within several hours (70-80% of
previous speed), and users report that they are fully adapted within a few days or a week
(often faster typists than before, but always more comfortable)
Design objectives: The Kinesis keyboard was developed by a team of research,
medical, and ergonomic professionals, headed by Kinesis President William R. Hargreaves
who himself had carpal tunnel syndrome. The design objective was to minimize known risk
factors leading to repetitive strain injuries without sacrificing speed and accuracy, and
without requiring users to relearn how to type
Research data: Data describing laboratory studies as well as user testimonials
are available upon request
Unique features:
- Patented design, proven in laboratory and in four years of commercial use, provides more
comfort and productivity features than any other keyboard
- Range of price and features for different budgets and tasks

Kinesis authored adaptation exercises free with each keyboard
